《海外新诗钞》：周策纵的“海外五四新诗学” The Overseas Poems Collection: The Study of Overseas Modern Chinese Poetry of Zhou Cezong

Abstract

Under the influence of political culture the spirit of May 4th poetry disappeared both in Mainland China and Taiwan after 1949. Before that a group of Chinese poets brought the new poetry overseas, where it was further developed, particularly in the USA and Hong Kong. The Overseas Poems Collection by Zhou Cezong included both May 4th-style and traditional overseas poetry by Tang Degang, Zhou Cezong, Huang Bofei. Li Jing, Xin Di etc. Free from political control, their works demonstrate poetical rhythm and musicality, creativity and imagination, being an example of pure literary art.
