从顾亭林对嘉靖世风之批评看其经世思想 Gu Tinglin's Criticism on the Trend of Literati during Jiajing Period and his though on Statecraft

Abstract

In regards to Gu Tinglin's academic achievements, scholars seem to focus more on his seemingly textual authentication writings and often ignore the great thoughtful aspects in these works. By reading the Rizhi Lu, this article notices particularly that the way planned by Gu follows a line which involves studies of classics, governance, and the thinking of statecraft. This in reality shows that practical concern is deep-rooted behind his textual criticism, relfected especially in his thought of statecraft. Human beings always grow in a particular society, confined to a special system and cultural background, thus makes them inseparable from time and space in which they live in. By relocating Gu's writings to the big environment, examination shows that whenever the Rizhi Lu talks about textual criticism, it often mentions how things had changed before and after Jiajing period. In order to see the crucial point of the formation of Gu Tinglin's thought, thinking trend and culture of the Ming Dynasty, especially the trend of literati during  Jiajing period, associate closely. This article will focus on three major points, namely the rebuking of empty talks, disparaging imperial examination, knowing the sense of honour and shame, as well as using Gu Tinglin's criticism on the literati trend around Jiajing period as a main line to illustrate Gu's statecraft thought.
