Abstract
It was one of the objectives of PLKN to create active, intelligent, self-assured, and noble young generation. 'ibis paper discusses part of the findings of a study that was carried out on PLKN trainees who were stationed at the campus of Universiti Utara Malaysia. Noble values, self-esteem and personality were measured using a standard test that has been proven to have high internal consistency credibility. A pre and post test designs were utilised. Pre-programme data was collected early in the PLKN programme, while post-programme data was gathered after the trainees have undergone closed-door training* 3 months. Findings show that the Character Building Module and Community Service Module of the programme are capable in increasing leadership values and positive personality amongst the participants. Then again, both modules are incompetent in inculcating good ideas and sell-esteem amongst the trainees.
